Which Stainless Steel Material for Pipe Application?

Stainless steel material has wide application for pipe transportation. The stainless steel pipe may be for conveying water, oil, gas and factory wastewater; some stainless steel pipe can be used for high temperature boiler. The following is the detail of stainless steel pipe.

 

Water Pipe: 

The most common used material for water pipe is material: 304 stainless steel. The reason is that SS 304 has good corrosion resistance and is very economical. 

Pipe for Factory Wastewater: 

For the severe environment, the commonly used pipe for factory wastewater is Type 201.

Pipe for Furnace Burden Factory: 

The furnace burden is produced under high temperature, so the material for the pipe must have good heat resistance like Type 316 or Type 310S.

Medical and Food Processing Equipments: 

It is Type 304 that is the widely used stainless steel material for medical and food processing equipments. 

Decorative Pipes: 

The stainless steel pipe for decoration in building is Type 201 and Type 304. The Type 201 has wider application because it has low price and has good corrosion resistance in outdoor environment.
