09CuPCrNi-A steel has a protective layer of rust resistance to atmospheric corrosion, it can be used in the manufacture of vehicles, bridges, towers, containers and other steel low-alloy structural steel. Compared with carbon steel, 09CuPCrNi-A steel has better corrosion resistance in the atmosphere. Compared to stainless steel, only trace amounts of alloying elements, alloys such as weathering resisting steel elements of total phosphorus, copper, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, niobium, vanadium, titanium, etc. is only a few percent.

Generally the heat treatment for weathering steel plate 09CuPCrNi-A shall be under Hot rolling or hot rolled and annealing or cold rolling, Annealing have to be down when steel plate under cold rolled delivery condition. Also if it is agreed by both sides, the mill can do acid-washing after hot rolled for these weathering steel plates. Normally the low temperature impacting test for 09CuPCrNi-A shall be under zero centigrade.
